What is EuropeanPWN and what is its relationship with PWA?
EuropeanPWN (European Professional Women's Network) is a not-for-profit federation of European women's associations whose objective is to promote the professional progress of women. PWA Milan has been an active member of this federation since January 2005. Other cities that currently have member associations are: Amsterdam, Brussels, Geneva, London, Madrid, Oslo, Paris, Sophia Antipolis, Stockholm, Vienna and Zurich. The president of each association, or a representative thereof, is part of the EuropeanPWN board of directors. There are currently more than 2,000 individual members, and the number is growing fast.
How can I join EuropeanPWN and how much does it cost?
As a member of PWA Milan you are automatically enrolled. Membership in EuropeanPWN is included in the price of PWA membership.
What are the benefits of being a member of EuropeanPWN?
EuropeanPWN members - and therefore all PWA members - have access to a highly innovative, interactive online networking platform with numerous features, including:
- a protected, searchable online member directory with access to thousands of women's profiles
- discussion forums
- message boards
- a Europe-wide events calendar
- online event registration and payment
The EuropeanPWN website offers various career resources, such as an online Think Tank on best practices, women leading change, mentoring initiatives, career management, and more. A monthly pan-European newsletter covers the latest initiatives in Europe for women's professional progress.
Additionally, by providing application, membership and event management functions, the EuropeanPWN platform removes most of the back office administration for local networks such as PWA. The time and money saved thereby is reinvested in further member services and benefits.
Can I attend events of other groups that are members of EuropeanPWN?
You are welcome to attend events in any other city network at member rates.
Why are there two websites with different user names and passwords?
Although they are related, PWA Milan and EuropeanPWN are two separate entities. Each website has different technical requirements and thus has its own type of user names and passwords. PWA is currently working on identifying a solution that would allow members to have only one ID and password for both sites.
How can I get more involved with EuropeanPWN?
EuropeanPWN is run by a team of virtually all volunteers, including the Presidents of the member associations. If you would like to volunteer, or help out on a specific project, please contact any board member of PWA or any member of the EuropeanPWN board to discuss current needs and how you can contribute. You can also scan the EuropeanPWN website message board, where volunteer opportunities are often posted.
How can I contact other EuropeanPWN members who are not members of PWA Milan?
Via the online platform on EuropeanPWN's website you can search for and contact members throughout the network.
