Do you know how to update your profile? You control the information in your profile data, which is visible to other members via the Directory: how to contact you and information about you - both professional and personal.
Although the directory can also be accessed through the PWA website, the "home" of your information is on the EuropeanPWN website. To update your profile:
- Login to the Members Only section of EuropeanPWN (www.europeanpwn.net) with your username (eg mary.jones) and password
- Click on "Profile" in the left-hand column of the page
The opening page allows you to change your password to one that is easy for you to remember, if you care to. Each area of your profile which you can update is listed in the column on the right-hand side of the page including:
- personal and professional info
- contact information
- mini-bio
- other networks you belong to
Simply click on the name of the area you wish to update. It is useful to list your telephone numbers in the "Current Address" area, although the beauty of this is that you control the information that you want to be available. To get an idea of what type of information to include, it's worthwhile looking at the profiles of other members for inspiration.
Under the area "Emails & Internet Accounts", you can list your various email addresses and your website, if you have one. If you do not want this information to be known, it is better that you don't list it at all, because the addresses that are listed here appear in the Directory.
An important area to keep updated is "E-mail Notification". Here, if you have listed more than one e-mail address, for example your professional and private e-mail addresses, you can indicate the one you wish to be used for communications from PWA. Where it says "Preferred email for notification." if you leave 'automatic', the system will choose one of your email addresses. If you click on the drop down feature, you will see your listed emails. Select the one you want to be used as your primary one, and confirm the selection by clicking on "Apply Changes" at the end of the page.
