The results form the PWA member survey 2006 revealed much about our member's expectations. 44 of you took the time to help us understand the profile of PWA and told us what you would like from PWA.
The 3 key messages were:
But what does PWA mean to you? Results from our survey point to professional development and networking. For all age groups, the main reason for joining was to build your professional and social networks. We need to do more to meet that need and so, looking at what we could do and what you want us to do, reveals that of the 20 events we hold each year:
Speaker Meetings
45% of our meetings are speaker meetings
You want 63% of our meetings to be focused on speakers (28%), professional development (20%) and personal development (15%)
We respond: Speaker meetings will provide more opportunities for personal and professional development; we will initiate more professionally-oriented events like the Entrepreneurs' Breakfast
Networking Events
45% of our meetings are networking aperitivi
You want 25%
We respond: We will try to include more focused networking activities at our monthly aperitivo to help you meet and find out more about PWA members and guests
Social Events
10% of our meetings are social
You want 10%
We respond: Phew! In addition to the summer and Christmas parties, look out for our charity event later in the year
As you can see from the above, speaker meetings and personal and professional development opportunities are valued. That's why they are our primary focus for this year.
