Expatriation was once a phenomenon almost exclusively reserved for multinational corporations. Today, globalisation requires many to send managers abroad. What Do You Think?
EuropeanPWN is setting up Think Tank Groups, a Europe-wide activity to encourage debate, share references, exchange stories, idenitify best practices, and more. Four areas are being particularly examined, these are:
- Women and mobility/dual careers: who said women aren't mobile?
- Working conditions for women in your country
- How did you manage your first 100 days in your job?
- Off ramps/on ramps: accelerating a career in midlife
If these subjects interest you and if you would like to take part, please join and contribute! Go to Groups in the Members Only section of EuropeanPWN and register for the group(s) you would like to join. Some pilot co-leaders and participants are already in and will welcome you aboard!
PWA Entrepreneur's Breakfast
The new year welcomed in a new event, the start of a monthly Entrepreneurs' Breakfast. The group, so far, is composed of five women, all with several years of experience as entrepreneurs or free-lancers. In a nutshell, the breakfast resulted in a very creative, intense and productive morning. The group was homogeneous - as far as interests and experience were concerned - and it was extremely helpful and inspiring to hear about their experiences and realise how being an expatriate can be an advantage. All in all I can heartily recommend working in small groups and I hope that more PWA-members take the initiative to start their own groups.
